ricky's is absolutely yummy. for a little white girl from ny who grew up on italian pastries... ricky's cuban goods were awesome! gave me a great appreciation of cuban baked goods. only problem was trying to explain what i wanted in really broken spanish to the ladies behind the counter who didn't speak ANY english. i told my girlfriend she has to pick up the desserts next time.

I must say I used to LOVE this place for their pastelitos (cheese, coconut, guava and cheese..yumm) but the last 4-5 times I went I found myself wondering why I go back to get IF NOT THE WORST SERVICE I have ever experienced. It is all women that work there and judging from other girls comments on here, it seems like they are particularly rude and nasty to women. Which seems like such an irony. They ignore you, and look at you like your crazy when you ask them nicely to order something. Last time I had to just walk out after they all kept staring at me from the other side of the counter and wouldn't come over to take my order. The pasteries are good but i can find better without having to come out aggrevated everytime i want a sweet. GIRLS avoid this place!!!

The cafe con leche was awesome. The best I have had in a few months. The tostada was nothing too exciting. The croquetta de jamon was plain and generic, like the kind you get in a frozen box at publix. I'm not sure how they won best croquetta by the croquetta crawl listed here on yelp! The pastelitos left a lot to be desired (we ordered meat pastelitos--they had two different style of pastry, tried both...one was hard and tasted stale and the other was ok.) The coconut pastelito wasn't that great, the pastry itself had a funky taste to it. The pastelito de queso (cheese) was pretty good. All in all, I don't think i'll be back...nothing out of this world.

I love this place so much that I'm fighting the urge to use all my favorite curse words to emphasize my love for it. I used to drive 2-3 miles out of my way to go to this place when there were pastelitos right around the corner from my apartment! Ricky's Bakery simply has the best pastelito de queso in all of Miami. For real. Hands down. Also, their empanada de pollo. Also, their pastelito de mango. Also, their cafe con leche. Also, their employee that I've nick-named Cuban Scarlett Johansson. Best place ever!

After trying more than a half dozen different pastries, cakes, and flan here, I have given up. I really just don't like any of them. I'd rather have something from Karlo's or Gilbert's, or even Publix. I've always had very good service from the ladies behind the counter, however.

This place is awesome. I love the croquetas and a few of the empanadas they had when we stopped. I will definitely go back to sample more of the awesomeness they had in those cases!

My sweet tooth strikes again! This is an authentic Cuban bakery run by Cubans for Cubans. As in the other reviews they really don't speak English here. My trademark Miami communication method of point and grunt however, was just as effective here as it is in most of Miami. Walk in knowing that and walk out with a treat. I love anything here with Dulce de Leche in the name and a cup of coffee. I've also tried this Cuban fried pork roll thing that was surprisingly good.

I live very close by and this is on of my two go to bakeries. Their cubiertas are the best in Miami and their cuban crackers both the traditional and the whole wheat ones are absolutely fantastic. The cafe con leche is always great!

I just had a coworker bring over some tequenos de guava y queso (melted cheese and guava pastries) and they were delicious!!!! Not greasy or oily at all. I will have to try this place

If you speak spanish and crave cuban snacks, there is no better place. Their empanadas are delicious, we tried the croquetas and some pastries too. They also seem to do wonders with birthday cakes but i have not tasted them...just looked at the designsh

I tried the empandas, tres leches, and flan. Pretty good stuff! Their flan dark sauce at the bottom is very strong. Large selection overall. Clean setting. As for Spanish, yeah they can be sometimes difficult, just say "para llevar" and point to what you want (to take it to go). still better to go to karlo or a karla bakery...

There are 2 bakeries in Miami I give a 5 star too and Rickys is one of them. You can tell they do not cut corners in making their pastilitos or croquetas. I can not attest to their cakes but everything else is top. Give it a try you will be hooked and it will be hard not to go every week for your cafe con leche and pastilitos. fyi.. the other place is Karla's Bakery.
